A gift that shows creativity is memorable

Sure, you can buy an expensive gift and "wow" your sweetheart but how much thought did you put into it? Maybe you'll keep thinking about them and the bill for a while every time your credit card bill pops in the mail but seriously you don't have to drain your wallet to show you care.

Think about the things your guy or gal has talked about, favorite things from the past; favorite songs, old books, cartoon characters, comic books, baseball playing cards they loved. This is a time to visit book stores, used book stores, thrift shops, Amazon and eBay for unique items like out of print books, music and games from childhood/teenhood. Think about their favorite songs or download from Pandora or iTunes onto an MP3 (you can always give the iPod or Mp3, iPad etc. along-- if you want to ramp up the spending).

Think about your sweetie's favorite color (if they love blue blue group a few items together like: blue candles, blue shirt, blue placemats, blue soap, blueberries, blue cupcakes etc.) and/or their favorite aromas (pumpkin, vanilla, sweet peas, gardenia, Old Spice?) Group items together in a gift basket for a gal or for a guy maybe a bucket he can use again later. For some additional good ideas check out a really cool gift site.

Think about the Five Senses, sight, touch, taste, smell and sound. Group presents to represent things from each (this can be amazingly creative and a real annual favorite). To make it fun you can even make a pact with your sweetie to keep it to a limit cost wise then it ups the creative ante.

Romance isn't something you can buy, nor is love and adoration. You can certainly excite someone by throwing money on things however there's a reason handmade gifts are a favorite among those who can buy anything they want. If you can whip out your wallet and get it, its not necessarily "special." However, if you can gather pieces of special things that mean something, mix them with thought and creativity then you have something that is truly an act of love.

Viva Amore!
